Tyler Birch had always loved vultures. Ever since he was five years old and an older boy moved next door with his family. It did not take long for his neighbor to begin molesting Tyler in the backyard. But when the molesting turned to rape, Vulture came and taught Tyler how to leave his body and fly.

Vulture had been a part of Tyler's life ever since. Even as Tyler grew older and thought he would outgrow the whole vulture memories, Vulture would be flying by or on a fence post nearby. It was what made Tyler feel safe in this world.

Now, 50 years later, after losing his wife to cancer and then winning his battle with the disease, he finds out that cancer has returned, and this time there is no winning scenario.

Tyler has always known what he would do if it ever came down to this, and now is the time to get started.
