EXTINCTION WARRIOR:

One Girl's Round-the-World Quest to Find Her Parents

and Save Endangereds

In this thrilling blend of 'Spy Kids' meets 'Zootopia' with a dash of 'Jurassic Park' intrigue, join clairvoyant 12-year-old Luki Sloan, her arctic fox Mig, and the android Tuk on a quest against the Red Dragon gang to rescue her scientist-detective parents from the clutches of the notorious animal trafficker White Wolf! Set in the year 2155, this inspiring fantasy sheds light on the perils of climate change and the extinction crisis while shining a hopeful light on a seemingly insurmountable situation. Luki's parents are scientist-detectives for World Endangered Animal Police Protection (WEAPP), and go missing while hunting White Wolf and his gang in the Bering Strait. Once Luki activates Tuk, there is only one thing to do—masquerade as traffickers to try and find them and White Wolf. They lie to Luki’s adoptive Indigenous grandparents and set off from their remote home in the Arctic to travel the world, collecting a diverse assortment of endangered animals to entice the Red Dragon leader. They eventually locate White Wolf and gain access to his superyacht where disaster strikes. Their travels take Luki, Tuk and Mig from a cyclone in Tahiti into the aftermath of a hurricane in Puerto Rico; they face an attack by an Eagle owl in Russia, a porcupine attack in the Transylvanian Alps, the stinging bites of driver ants in the Serengeti, and the possibility of pirates in the Mozambique Channel before they make their way to White Wolf's superyacht in the Bay of Bengal near Myanmar— where they confront a series of shocking discoveries. As the story unfolds, readers learn about Partula snails, Puerto Rican crested toads, cinereous vultures, African wild dogs, radiated tortoises, pangolins, tarsiers and a variety of other animals while gaining insight into indigenous Arctic culture, diverse environments and acquire a greater understanding of world geography from maps throughout the text. A story for all ages, but an excellent choice for kids ages nine to fourteen, this story weaves real science with a fantastic vision of a future world in which a 12-year-old wrestles with friendship, loneliness, fear, loss and her own strengths.

Le Requin

   Book Cover Submarine

Le Requin is a story about two retired brothers, one a former Naval officer and the other a former Engineer, who love the ocean and sailing. After renting a beautiful sailboat in Corpus Christi, Texas, they set out to cross the Gulf of Mexico, sailing and scuba diving along the way. Their ultimate destination is Key West, Florida, where they intend to fish, relax, see the sights, and bask in the South Florida sunshine. Not long after beginning their voyage, they encounter a group of drug smugglers who are using an old submarine and an offshore oil rig supply boat to transport drugs into the United States. The ruthless dictator from a small, Central American country is behind this operation and is not leaving any witnesses to testify against him. When the brother’s sailboat is observed near an abandoned oil derrick being used to help facilitate the drug transfer, the captain of an Off-shore oil rig supply boat destroys it, thinking its occupants are in the boat, he wants to make sure they are on their way to the bottom of the Gulf. Once back at the pier in Galveston, Texas, in an attempt to recover the $1,000,000.00 paid for their efforts, the Central American dictator has his contacts in the US destroy the offshore oil rig supply boat, killing all on board. The boat’s captain survives, only to be killed a short time later and eventually buried in the soft sandy soil outside Galveston.

The two brothers, who were able to make it safely into Galveston, witness the dictator’s two henchmen's recovery of the dead captain and are able to find the money paid to the supply boat's crew. They use this money to help finance the rest of their trip, only to come across the submarine again. This time, they are able to alert the authorities and help prevent the escape of both the submarine and the dictator’s US-based crew.

Sacred places of Valor, Determination and Liberty

Shores of Our Forefathers: A Journey Through Freedom and Heritage Joseph Akoi Zeze’s Shores of Our Forefathers is an evocative historical novel that takes readers on a journey through the rich and often tumultuous history of African-Americans and their quest for freedom. The book explores themes of liberty, sacrifice, and the indomitable spirit of those who fought against the chains of oppression. Set in the 19th century, the novel unfolds across two continents—America and Africa—bringing to life the stories of former slaves seeking freedom and new beginnings. From the tobacco fields of Virginia to the shores of West Africa, Zeze masterfully weaves a tale that is both intimate and epic in scope. The story centers on Robert “Bob-bob” Douglass, an enslaved man whose daring escape sets the stage for a larger narrative of courage and resilience. His perilous journey toward the Pepper Coast—what would become the Republic of Liberia—is driven by his yearning for freedom and the love of a woman tied to the dark secrets of the Cottonwood plantation. Through vibrant characters and a richly detailed setting, Shores of Our Forefathers sheds light on the complex history of African-American repatriation, abolitionism, and the founding of Liberia. The novel reflects on the sacrifices of many who, like Bob-bob, sought to break free from the confines of slavery and carve out a future on the distant shores of Africa. Along the way, Zeze explores questions of identity, loyalty, and the deep ties between the African diaspora and their ancestral homeland. At its core, this is a story of resilience, where the fight for freedom extends beyond physical boundaries to the emotional and spiritual liberation of a people. The novel honors the legacies of those who stood against oppression and worked to establish a new world where liberty and dignity could thrive. With its powerful historical themes and a deeply human story, Shores of Our Forefathers invites readers to reflect on the ongoing struggles for freedom and the strength of those who dared to dream of a better tomorrow.

The Isle of Kin:

A Gripping Mystery Novel Unfolding on an Enigmatic Utopian Island

"A haunting look at the lengths people are willing to go to for self-preservation. Very highly recommended." —Readers' Favorite

A captivating novel where Orwell's dystopia meets Murakami's mystique.

To the outside world, plagued by poverty and death, the Isle of Kin is a paradise—a tantalizing utopia where wealth, beauty, and harmony reign. The Kinsmen, the island’s enigmatic inhabitants, have guarded their prized black opal mines for centuries, never allowing an outsider to set foot on their sacred land.

August, a struggling laundromat bookkeeper from the decaying Mainland, discovers he is a descendant of a defected Kinsman and earns a coveted invitation to the island. To him, it feels like a dream—his one shot at a better life.

Once in paradise, however, August can never leave. Desertion is punishable by death. And, as he learns more about the Isle of Kin and the ways of the Kinsmen, an eerie reality sets in. The rules are absolute. The perfection—a mere façade.

August soon discovers that utopia comes at a price.
