The Box

Max knew it was dangerous to take gifts from strangers. But what harm could there be in accepting a gift of a plain old box? When it turns out that the Box can hack into people’s dreams, Max is hooked.

But the Box has its own sinister intentions. Max and his friends are drawn deeper into the Box’s orbit, and soon discover that fun at someone else’s expense can backfire, and that impulsive decisions can have serious, real-world repercussions.

The Box blends urban fantasy with real-world perils — a compelling read for young adults.

Authored by a seasoned middle-school teacher, The Box deals with real-world dangers, highlighting the importance of investing in — and leaning on — strong, non-virtual relationships when grappling with the challenges of life.

The Box meets Common Core curricular standards for 6-8th grade English literature, grammar and vocabulary, and is compatible with both in-school and homeschool classroom modules and values.
