Roderick Nathaniel Pugh, known professionally as The Bama Mist, is an American Army veteran, author, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and recording artist. Pugh was born in Southern Alabama. Pugh was the first African American sniper in the Iraq campaign in the history of the United States Army. During Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003, he was one of the first one thousand soldiers to enter into Iraq as a part of 2-7 Infantry, 3rd Infantry Division and also known as " Thunder Run ".
