The Mediocre Miracle

A book 37 years in the making to help those understand and gain clarity on where they are, who they are and ultimately, to help establish where you want to go and who you need to become to get there

Unbowed

Basma Abseh is an obedient Yemeni mother haunted by a traumatic childhood experience. A child bride at 13, she's never been in love, nor felt the stirring of sensual desire. She's resigned to her daily routines. But all that changes at a Queens bus stop one stormy afternoon, when a red sports car pulls up driven by a handsome young stranger. Soon Basma is forced to make an almost impossible choice: her family's honor or her own Life.

When terror strikes one of her London 'safe' houses, activist Dr. Neelam Sethi seeks to expose the shocking brutality inflicted worldwide on women and girls by their families. But has she taken on more than she can handle?

A rescue gone wrong transforms beautiful Algerian journalist, Zafeera Hasni, into a hijab-wearing soldier carrying an AK-47, with a jaw-dropping mission. Is she a new action hero or just mad

Set in present day cosmopolitan cities with their burgeoning immigrant populations and other international locales, UNBOWED weaves together three plotlines that illuminate the violent extremes some patriarchal cultures have gone to, to reinforce absolute power over women and girls, and the equally extreme, yet opposite paths these women embark on to change the game.

Never Going Home

Never Going Home by Jeff Marlowe

Din Swift lives a life of quiet desperation. A mundane job, an abysmal wage, and a one-way road to nowhere permeating his everyday life. All this leaves him and his even more infuriated best friend, Chris, wondering how and why they came to find themselves in this world of an increasingly disposable workforce. A time far different from the “American Dream” they were brought up to know, and a vision that older generations have enjoyed considerably more. They dare to question all this and more.

What Din is not so inclined to share is that he has already quit his job, yet does not have the nerve to tell anyone. Be it a newfound courage or a crazed second wind, Din decides to fix everything by finding a new job and thereby hoist himself out of this rut. In painful and even comical fashion, Din discovers the process of interviewing to be a full-time job in and of itself, and soon realizes why he was so reluctant to resign to begin with. It takes an agonizing twist of fate to reevaluate everything about himself, as well as everyone around him.

Follow his journey as he navigates catastrophic romances, the testing of friendships, and ultimately comes to question if the modern America he lives in, both economically and culturally, may really be within an irreversible era of decline.

United States of Anger

United States of Anger:

Why Linda Sarsour's Rage and the Far Left's Violence Cannot Move Mountains. Thoughts of a British Muslim Conservative

“United States of Anger” is a commentary unlike any other discussing many worldwide issues from a British Muslim Hasan Ali Imam.

London, UK – October 25, 2020 – British Muslim Hasan Ali Imam, a former British Parliament candidate, released his first book, “United States of Anger,” available on Amazon. Imam isn’t new to the political arena and has had an interest ingovernment since his early college years. Imam says, “I felt compelled to write my book in the hopes of creating an open discussion worldwide. There are many governments ranging from democracy, socialism, and communism throughout the world, but at the core, we are all individuals. We should be able to openly discuss our differences, especially when it comes to confronting racism and other global issues.”

For Dr. Melissa Caudle, publisher and editor of the book with Absolute Author Publishing House, she found the book eye-opening. Caudle says, “This isn’t a book that tells you what to think or what you should do. It does make you think about the world and the many situations we confront, including racism and bias. I loved the open approach Imam took without any condemnation. He leaves the reader wanting to know more, but at the same time, provides discourse based on fact and not conjecture.”

ABOUT THE BOOK

“United States of Anger: Why Linda Sarsour’s Rage and the Far Left’s Anger Cannot Move Mountains. Thoughts of a British Muslim Conservative” addresses the toxic nature of debate in America and the need for better understanding between Conservatives (the Right) and Liberals/Socialists (the Left). Civil discussion is the way forward, and this book should be viewed as a precursor to a continuous dialogue.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Hasan was born in Bangladesh and has lived in the UK for 47 years. He attended the London School of Economics in the early 1990s and then went on to do an MBA at Imperial College. Hasan has an understanding of the extremist mindset when recruitment attempts were made during university to join the Mujahideen in Afghanistan by a terrorist who was later involved in the murder of the American journalist, Daniel Pearl. He has been involved as a trainer for ‘Prevent’, the UK Government’s counter-terrorism strategy, which seeks to prevent extremists from following the radicalization path. Hasan has helped campaign for Conservative MPs and stood for the British Parliament in 2005 as a Conservative candidate and standing in county elections. He has challenged extremist leaders head-on during that time and believes that this is the only way to diffuse radicalization. He hopes to become a Member of Parliament one day.

Undomesticated: She Had No Remorse

Undomesticated:

She Had No Remorse

A small Nebraska town is terrorized by a serial killer who targets young “good” girls. The prime suspect disappears and may have himself become someone else’s victim.
Warren Steelgrave has just written a best-selling novel and gained further nationwide notoriety when he narrowly escaped being murdered at his daughter’s wedding. The local Nebraska town newspaper hires Warren as an investigative reporter because of his unique insights and his uncanny instinct for finding the truth. More papers will be sold and more eyes will be focused on the town’s plight.
In this third novel in the Steelgrave series, author and photographer Gary Smith takes us another thought provoking journey with surprising twists and suspense filled alleyways. Smith’s alter ego, Warren Steelgrave, explores the psyche of an “undomesticated” killer who acts without remorse. Warren soon realizes that he shares many traits with the killer. It is a fine line that makes his own “willingness” to do what is necessary actually be socially acceptable.
Warren’s romantic kindred spirit, Cindy O’Brien, has been living her life separate; writing songs and performing them across the country. She suddenly joins Warren in Nebraska to escape a deadly stalker. The readers of Smith’s first two books know that Warren will never leave that “stone unturned”.
The varied character plots intertwine as the story unfolds. The reader is challenged to confront their own human nature and how they might react given a challenge outside their moral comfort zone. This latest adventure has an ending that won’t be decided by a jury.
