Author Bio: J.M. RASINSKE (John Michael Rasinske) was raised in Franklin, Wisconsin and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. He lives in Hillsborough (H-Vegas), North Carolina with his wife and teenage daughter while his three adult sons pursue their own independence. Outside of writing, he enjoys playing his Terry McInturff guitar, doing DDP Yoga, and spending time with family. This is his debut novel.

“J.M. Rasinske comes out of the gates at light speed with his debut novel, A Forest of Giant Oaks: Independence. With a page-turning plot intricately woven through multiple timelines, this novel meshes time travel and historical fiction in the best ways possible. Rasinske masterfully brings the Founding Fathers, headlined by the ardent, witty Benjamin Franklin, into the twenty-first century in such an engaging way, while maintaining the historical accuracy of these complex characters. As I finished the last page, I was left with one thought: I’m ready for Volume Two.”

The New Psychology

The New PSYCHOLOGY:

A Unified Field of Brain, Mind, Behavior, Perception, Culture...: Abbreviated Edition (B&W)

These are the bits and pieces that make up a deep understanding of how our mind works. I hope I have done them justice. Welcome to the deep woods...

All teachers are inspired by the idea, however hopeful, that we are getting something across that someday, someway, will benefit our students, make their life better, and give them the tools that they need to understand a very difficult world.

In psychology, students flock to our courses, eager to learn the lessons of life, how their mind works, and how to understand others. They want to understand what the world is really all about. Yet what they learn is often that they must memorize vast amounts of data and studies that make little sense in how to apply what they learn to the real world. They memorize what they need to know to pass a test, not what they need to know to understand life.

This is a B&W, less expensive version of the original book. 474 pages, fully illustrated. An easy-to-read view of the reality of how the mind works.

“Examples are not another way to teach, Examples are the only way to teach.” Albert Einstein

The Polish Prince

The Polish Prince:

A True WW2 Story of A Teenage Holocaust Witness

A True Story. Shockingly Relevant Today.

It's 1939, and 13-year-old Zbigniew learns how to survive in eastern Poland when WWII breaks out. As the war progresses, he is caught between Nazi-German oppressors, the resisting Polish Home Army, the Ukrainian Insurgent Army, as well as Soviet guerilla, with bullets and bombs flying all around him.

Along the way, he witnesses the Holocaust firsthand, sees Hitler, is captured by Ukrainian Nationalists, is deported deep into Nazi Germany, escapes his labor camp, fights in the Czech Uprising, and survives the bombing of Dresden, among many other events of the 20th century. Not to mention the fact that he may be of Polish nobility.

Through his memoirs, he tells a riveting story of survival, being captured and sent to work camps, escaping, and of falling in love.

Not only is Zbigniew's story incredible, but there are an uncountable number of parallels with the events of 2022—namely the Russian Invasion of Ukraine—which gravely highlights the importance of stories like these.

It's a must-read if you want to understand the background of the geopolitical issues facing that part of the world today.

A Ukrainian illustrator created all of the maps in this book. At the time of making the illustrations, she lived in Kharkov, which in 2022, has been under constant shelling from the Russian Army. It was last taken over by the Russians in 1943. See her testimony below:
"...We lived in Kharkov. My house was on the outskirts of the city in the direction of the Russian Federation. On the morning of the 24th, we woke up from the fact that bomb explosions were heard around... and the windows were shaking. After days of bombing, with difficulty... and in despair, we left the city."
